Google ranks sites based on a multitude of factors, but simply put “webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by creating high-quality sites that users will want to use and share.” SEO starts with designing a website that provides users with helpful and accurate information that matches their search results, and often exceeds their expectations.

When creating content, write to your customer. Think about what they will be searching for, what they’re looking to achieve, and what questions they may have and answer them. Content should be developed with relevant keywords in mind.

If your company sells high-end coffee, one of your keywords may be “gourmet coffee beans”. You can utilize Google’s Keyword Tool to help determine the optimal keywords to enhance your content and SEO results.

Most importantly, analyze your results and refine your content and keywords for improved rankings. Part of SEO is trial and error, so be prepared to make alterations that will better move you up the ranks in search results.

What’s your SEO strategy? Do you constantly analyze your results?
